Our Alaskan Vacation the summer of 1998

We put 8600 miles on the Dodge on our trip to Alaska and back in 1998. Had a great time and
looking forward to a return trip.

Parks Highway

Near Beluga Point of the Turnagin Arm of the Cook Inlet

The "Grizz" we saw along the highway. We did not hang around to see if he
was friendly!

The White Pass summit along the highway to Skagway, Alaska. The water flows both north and south from this point. Going south it is 12 miles thru Skagway to the ocean. Water flowing north empties into the Yukon River where it must travel 1500 miles before it reaches the ocean!

Skagway, Alaska

Looking north down "main street" in Skagway, Alaska - one of our favorite towns. The boardwalk sidewalk in the foreground is common throughout downtown. Note the air-conditioner in the window of the apartment. It does get "hot" in Skagway - although the Ocean and surrounding mountains insure a nice breeze on most days
